third scar in demand devil's whisper dripping
paint off the plant while dirty seams
tear a hole stitch wide flat spaces
into disgruntled abstractions abstruse
and contrived rope twisted on the
skeleton hand it descended from view
as we left our safe harbors for
the bleakness of knowledge safe only
in our truest understandings fraught
through miserable prehistoric graveyards
where I left my beliefs then once
it was always before forgotten allies
skidded jerked and scraped behind
closed metal glass doors like the
windows that tore us from infinity so
far ago left sideways on concrete
drops the polar definition of a surprised
denial echoes to evince tragic timed
travesties lost feeling in every part
of my body lost sight of everything
oh what the hell I am not the
one I need to place your trust
in red streaks couldn't have better
indicated the sure slow safe bet.
